Elementary School Edit

According to Quality Counts 2009, an annual national report from Editorial Projects in Education Research Center.

Oklahoma has about 46 students per certified English Language Learner (ELL )teacher. That compares with the national average of 19 students per teacher.

The report also ranks states in six categories, with Oklahoma averaging a C the same as the national average and the same grade both received last year. Oklahoma's ELL population has grown 25 percent in five years and is ranked 21st.

Also in the Quality Counts report, each state is given a report card assessing six topics and receives an overall grade. This year, Oklahoma was given an overall grade of C, the same as the national average and the same grade both received last year.

The state did score higher in the areas of standards, assessments and accountability, and the teaching profession. Oklahoma scored the lowest in school finance.[1].

According to the 2008 Statistical Abstract, 87.5% of Oklahomans Graduate High School[2]

Higher Education Edit

According to the 2008 Statistical Abstract, 22.9% of Oklahomans recieve a degree of Bachelor or higher[3] .

Participants in National School Lunch Program Edit

In the 1996 US Census, Oklahoma ranked 28th out of 50 states in the number of participants in the National School Lunch Program[4].
